Macallan 2008 SMWS 12 Year Old 24.160 Single Malt Whisky
‘Madeira Cake in a Humidor’
This whisky was distilled on 13th October 2008 and has been aged for a total of 12 years in first-fill Spanish oak Oloroso hogshead. Distilled at Macallan distillery and bottled by The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS).
Only 328 bottles released.
Nose: Heavy sherry with hint of good sulphur.
Taste: A typical heavily sherried dram, loads of dried fruits, raisins, sultanas, figs, dried oranges.
Finish: Medium long and somewhat dry, with yet more dried fruits coming through. Old leather furniture notes also come through, with a warm afterglow.
