Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 5 Single Malt Whisky
Part of the Tun 1509 Series from Balvenie, this is Batch 5.
To create Batch No.5 of The Balvenie Tun 1509, David C. Stewart MBE carefully hand-selected 29 of the finest casks (10 bourbon barrels, 8 Sherry hogsheads, 3 refill American oak casks, 8 Sherry butts) from the distillery’s precious aged whiskies. All were transferred to Tun 1509, which sits in Warehouse 24, for several months before bottling.
   Nose:   Honey, oatmeal, orange, vanilla, some coconut, walnut, spicy tannins, herbs, leather, light raisins, peach/apricot jam, almonds.
   Taste:   Velvety start, the alcohol is well integrated, honey, apricot, vanilla, orange, almonds, oak.
   Finish:   Long and soft, dried apricots, marzipan, raisins, spicy wood at the back.
