Glenmorangie Artein 15 Year Old Single Malt Whisky
Part of the Glenmorangie’s Private Edition range, Artein was released in 2011. Artein is Gaelic for ‘stone’, this expression is said to be influenced by the rocky terroir of its provenance.
Artein was matured in ex-bourbon casks and finished in Super Tuscan wine barrels. It is made up of 2 parts 15 Year Old to 1 part 21 Year Old whisky for a solid mix, the result being a mature, rich, thick, spicy malt full of flavour.
   Nose:   Sweet, fruity (peaches, apple-pear mash, some sweet berries), vanilla fudge, a bit of bitter almond, citruses and gentle woody notes.
   Taste:   Slightly sweet, winey, a bit spicy (ginger), muesli with white chocolate flakes, gooseberry jam, lemon zest and woody tones at the end.
   Finish:   Medium-long, sweetish, tad nutty, bubble-gum notes, dried apples, soft wet oak.
