Jim Beam Distiller’s Masterpiece PX Sherry Casks Bourbon Whiskey
Part of the Distiller’s Masterpiece Series from Jim Beam, this Limited Edition release was finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. Production of Distiller’s Masterpiece, finished in PX sherry casks was overseen by Fred Noe, the seventh-generation Master Distiller and great-grandson of Jim Beam. It follows in a tradition of applying an extra finish to Bourbon developed by his father, Booker Noe. The two previous Distiller’s Masterpieces were finished in casks previously used to age Cognac and Port. For the Distiller’s Masterpiece finished in PX sherry casks, the bourbon was aged between 10 and 12 years. Distiller’s Masterpiece were created and packaged in a specially designed bottle and wooden box with Plexiglas front and back.
   Nose:   Liquorice, raisins, some charred oak, caramel, toffee, spices, cloves, plum, figs, cinnamon, vanilla.
   Taste:   Liquorice, cinnamon, vanilla, charred oak, spices, cloves, subtle sweetness.
   Finish:   Medium long, warm, liquorice, spices, cloves.
