Macallan 2002 SMWS 18 Year Old 24.142 Single Malt Whisky
‘Toffee Tango and Rhubarb Rumba’
This whisky was distilled on 12th March 2002 and has been aged for a total of 18 years in first-fill ex-bourbon barrel. Distilled at Macallan distillery and bottled by The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS).
Only 204 bottles released.
   Nose:   Very classic but nice bourbon cask flavours. Lots of vanilla, caramel, honey, butter, pear, and pretty floral. Cloves, grasses, some wood (very subtle) and very light pepper. After a while, pineapple and coconut are added, and sawdust with water.
   Taste:   Very voluminous and powerful. In the mouth you can now clearly feel the alcohol content and the wood is also very present (it is already becoming bitter). Vanilla, honey, oak and pepper.
   Finish:  The finish is medium long with vanilla and honey, but also quite oak-heavy.
