Yamazaki The Kogei Collection Peated Malt Spanish Oak 2024
Released in 2024, the Kogei Collection from Suntory is a testament to the concept of ‘kogei’, meaning ‘traditional Japanese craft’. The product of Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo’s creative craftsmanship, this Single Malt from the Yamazaki distillery use peated malt and maturation in Spanish oak casks to enhance and deepen the unique flavour profile, producing a colourful spice character with smoky notes.
The packaging and label design from Chiso, Kyoto’s highly renowned kimono house, is based on actual kimonos and draw inspiration from the stunning natural surroundings of the distillery.
   Nose:   Creamy mouth feel with dark mocha, raisins and almonds.
   Taste:   Velvety with a deep smokiness, smooth and rich with roasted cacao.
   Finish:  Profound long finish with bittersweet caramelized baking spices.
