Hakushu The Kogei Collection Peated Malt Spanish Oak 2024
Released in 2024, the Kogei Collection from Suntory is a testament to the concept of ‘kogei’, meaning ‘traditional Japanese craft’. The product of Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo’s creative craftsmanship, this Single Malt from the Hakushu distillery use peated malt and maturation in Spanish oak casks to enhance and deepen the unique flavour profile, producing a colourful spice character with smoky notes.
The packaging and label design from Chiso, Kyoto’s highly renowned kimono house, is based on actual kimonos and draw inspiration from the stunning natural surroundings of the distillery.
   Nose:   Hints of citrus zest and fragrant herbs.
   Taste:   Layers of smoky peat with notes of green tea and crisp mountain air.
   Finish:  Long, refreshing finish with sweet honey and gentle spices.
